Educational Qualification:
1. Undergraduate qualification in Science (
2. Postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Science or Associateship in InformationmScience or equivalent degree from a recognized university or ISI/NISCAIR or IISc. This qualification should have been achieved as a regular course (I or II Class).
3. 10 years experience in a library at a reputed research institute.
4. Candidates must be below 50 years of age.
Desirable Qualification:
- PhD in Library and Information Science from a recognized University.
- Published work in Library and Information Science.
- Competence in the use of computers and software for library and information technology.
- Communication skills for effective interaction with print and electronic publishers and other information service providers, user community, and for engaging in inter-institutional partnerships.
- Demonstrated record of self-motivated efforts towards improvement of library environments.
: Pay Band 3, Rs 15,600 – 39,100 + Grade Pay Rs 7,600 + allowances at Bangalore as per GOI norms. Exceptional candidates may be offered a higher pay: Pay Band 4, Rs 37,400– 67,000 + Grade Pay Rs 8,700 + allowances.
